In our Prenatal Aerial Yoga classes, we use a hammock (sling) to gently reduce the effects of gravity and relieve pressure from key areas of the pregnant body. This helps to release tension effortlessly and builds strength and flexibility in preparation for labour.
The poses are adapted to accommodate the body's changes during pregnancy and its evolving needs. Unlike typical aerial yoga classes, no acrobatic or complex poses are involved. All movements are performed on the ground, maintaining full contact with it for safety and comfort.
The hammock serves as a supportive tool, allowing expectant mothers to:
- Use the fabric for added confidence while building strength, balance, and flexibility as the body changes.
- Easily follow instructions and enjoy a smooth, flowing class.
Our Prenatal Aerial Yoga sessions focus on safe movements for women in their second and third trimesters. You'll gradually build muscle and enjoy a sense of weightlessness, relieving tired feet and back pain, and experiencing the joy of self-care during pregnancy.
If you’ve been practising yoga regularly and are in your first trimester, you can join the classes, but we recommend taking it slow. The motion of the hammock may increase nausea, and some poses are not suitable for the first trimester. We’ll guide you through modifications to ensure both you and your baby remain safe. It’s important to listen to your body and only do what feels comfortable.
Our Prenatal Aerial Yoga Classes will help you:
- Listen to your body and stay attuned to its needs.
- Stay present and connected with yourself.
- Be kind to yourself while practising deep, mindful breathing.
Be patient as you become familiar with aerial grips. In the meantime, enjoy the class and follow our gentle, supportive guidance.
**Important notes:**
- Please consult your doctor before attending any Prenatal Aerial Yoga class.
- No prior yoga or aerial experience is necessary, and all stages of pregnancy are welcome.
- If you have pregnancy-related concerns or injuries, please inform us beforehand!
